Soul Street Workshop At Monmouth University (1:00PM)
Monmouth University has TWO very exciting opportunities for your group!
Soul Street Dance, an international hip-hop, street and break dance phenomenon will be appearing at Monmouth University on Nov. 7, 2008.
Soul Street utilizes many styles of street dance, combined with an eclectic mix of music ranging from hip-hop to classical. In addition, they bring several outstanding outreach activities especially targeted to children and teens.

Takin' It to the Streets illustrates the history of street dancing and how it emerged as an innovative alternative for solving problems of confrontation and conflict. This program is well suited for students in grades 1-12...

Soul Street's full-length evening concert features hip-hop movement, modern staging and choreography, brightly costumed pieces, variety, versatility, and comedy performed to hip-hop, popular and classical music and will take place on Friday, Nov. 7th at 8pm in Pollak Theatre. Group rates are available for the evening performance.

The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial will induct four veterans into the "In Memory" Program, which honors those who served in Vietnam and returned home only to die as a result of their tour, but whose names are not on the Memorial. The three inductees are:
Leon J. Durko, US Navy, from South Amboy, NJ, died 9/18/07
Kirk B. Kremer, US Army, from Warren Grove, NJ, died 9/27/07
John E. McDonough, US Airforce, from Bedminster, NJ, died 11/30/05
Frederick J. Morgan III, US Air Force, from Monroe Twp, NJ, died 2/20/03
As part of the ceremony, family members will say a few words about their loved one and light a candle in their memory.

The Eleventh Annual Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations Gala will be held November 22, 2008 at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch. The region's premier fundraising event benefits Meridian's not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The 2008 Gala's theme, "Tango - A Night of Intrigue in Buenos Aires", promises to rival an exciting evening in South America, featuring dancing, live performances, and luxurious live and silent auctions. Additionally, a limited number of 50/50 "super raffle" tickets are on sale with half of the proceeds benefiting the Meridian Health Foundations.
